STATEN ISLAND, N.Y – Assemblyman Michael Cusick (D-Mid-Island) on Friday announced that he has been endorsed for re-election by the New York State Court Officers Association, the New York State Supreme Court Officers Association and the New York State Court Clerks Association.
“These are the folks who make sure that justice is served every day,” Cusick said on the steps of state Supreme Court, St. George, where he was joined by leaders and members of all three unions. “These are our neighbors, these are our friends.”
Said Cusick, “It takes a strong individual to be a public servant.”
He said that many of those in the unions also volunteer for various community and charitable groups.
“They are the fabric of our neighborhoods,” Cusick said.
“Mike Cusick not only has years of experience,” said Dennis Quirk, president of the State Court Officers Association, “but has demonstrated his support of our membership by having knowledge of the issues important to us.”
Said Patrick Cullen, president of the State Supreme Court Officers Association, “Mike Cusick has earned the respect of our membership.”
“His record speaks for itself that he is the clear choice for the endorsement by our membership,” said Joseph Walsh, president of the State Court Clerks Association.
Cusick, who was first elected in 2002, is running against Republican Joseph Tirone.
